This site was created as an extension to a project assigned by Kent State University during my Master of Library and Information Science program. The original project was to research three privates and one officer of a unit from the Civil War. Working at the Delaware County District Library in Delaware, OH, I chose the county I worked in and found Company C of the 4th Ohio Volunteer Infantry which largely came from Delaware. We needed to research their lives, as well as the county they lived in and the history of the unit. I enjoyed the project so much I decided to expand it to the whole unit. Unfortunately I ran out of time and the project has been largely on hold for a few years, but is slowly beginning to pick up again. If there is a specific aspect of the site you would like to see explored, either a soldier or an aspect of history, please email me at contact(at)delawareguards.com.
