John Parks was born around 1826 in Ohio. He was married to a Mary Ann Miller in 1846[1] and had a daughter Mary.[2] In 1850 he worked as a mason and lived on the southwest corner of Sandusky and Bumford Streets.[3] He mustered in with the company on 3 June 1861. He fought in the Battle of Romney, but was wounded on 25 Sep 1861. He returned to Delaware, OH where he died of his wounds on 26 Jan 1862.[4] He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, in Delaware, OH.[5]
